​This will be our 9th year celebrating World Down Syndrome Day at the New Canaan YMCA!

This is a free, fun and inclusive family event aimed at raising Down syndrome awareness and to promote greater appreciation of those living with it.

This event features activities for all ages!

- Kids Fun Zone (for ages 4 -12) with a trampoline, a giant swing, and lots of gymnastics pads and equipment for kids to run around and climb on.
- Mini Kids Fun Zone (for ages 0 - 3)
- Music and Singing with Ms. Janine
- Ballet and Dance with Guest Artist Sandy Ross
- Inflatable Sports Panels
- Dance Jam! with Liz and Gabe
- Martial Arts
- Basketball
- Floor Hockey

- Arts and Crafts
- Snacks



It is co-sponsored by 21 Strong, the Down Syndrome Association of CT and the New Canaan YMCA.  
 
“World Down Syndrome Day was established in 2006 by Down Syndrome International, with the goal of raising awareness and mobilizing support and recognition of the dignity, rights and well-being of people with Down syndrome across the world. March 21, the 21st day of the third month of the year, was chosen to symbolize the third copy of chromosome 21 present in Trisomy 21, the most common form of Down syndrome."

Walk Ins are welcome.  Everyone will need to complete a waiver/photo consent form at the registration table when they arrive.

It is highly recommended that you skip the lines and pre-register by emailing [email protected] with the names of who will be attending. 

​Below is the waiver for you to print at home - you can bring it with you the day of the event so you don't need to spend time at the event completing the form and you can go right to the fun!
