DS ACT CAMP GRANTS
During the month of February, DS ACT sends out an email to it's members announcing that they are accepting applications for camp grants.
There is nothing like a week or two of camp to create great childhood memories. One of the best benefits of your DS ACT membership is access to our Camp Grant Program.
For children and young adults who live with Down syndrome, camp is a great way to stretch independent living and social skills. Summer camp is also a built-in form of respite for parents and caregivers.
DS ACT members who live with Down syndrome are eligible for grants of up to $500. The application process is simple: send an email to [email protected] and include the applicant’s name (and your name, if you are applying on behalf of a member who has Down syndrome), the amount of money requested, the name of the camp and a brief description of how the applicant would benefit from the grant.
Applications for overnight camp are currently being considered and we will begin accepting day camp applications on May 1st. Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis until our budgeted funds are exhausted. Payment must be made directly to the camp or the organization sponsoring the camp.
