21 StrongThrough the acceptance and respect of all individuals, we allow everyone to thrive and their gifts to shine. ~21 Strong
Picture
“When Grace was born we were so excited!  After 5 boys how could we not be!?  However, a few hours later our excitement faded as we discovered Grace had Down syndrome.

Questions and fear filled our hearts. Would she ever walk, ever be able to go to school?  I am thankful for the families who answered all my questions and reassured me all would be fine. They were so right!

When Grace was 3 years old we attended a music class for kids with Down syndrome.  It was at this class that I met Susan, Tricia and Christina.  It was wonderful to have friends who understood where I was.  Friends whose kids were just like mine!

I looked forward to that weekly music class more for me, I think.   As Susan once said it was us who needed the class not our kids!

It was from this music class that the four of us started 21 Strong. What a joy it is to see, that what began with 4 families has grown to so much more!

Grace, Ryan, Michael and John are no longer preschoolers crawling around a music room floor. They are confident tweens looking ahead to new challenges and opportunities in middle school!

Thank you to all the families that have carried our vision and made 21 Strong more than we could have imagined!

Together we are Strong!”
