“When Brody was born we already knew he would have Down syndrome and we were ready! Even with the negative comments about aborting and all the what if’s, we knew he was our baby and we would love him to the moon and back!
The first few days we had a scare that he might have Dextrocardia, which meant his heart was flipped to the other side, so he was in the NICU for the longest few days of our lives. Thankfully it was a false alarm, and aside from jaundice, he was healthy! From then on he has been nothing short of amazing! He rolled over at just one week old, from front to back and back to front with ease and met many milestones as expected or sooner!
He truly is our hero and his siblings (Carlirae, 18 and Nick, 16) love him so much and couldn’t imagine life without him! My favorite saying is, “Down syndrome is not just an extra chromosome that’s not needed, it is exactly what we without Down syndrome are lacking!
21 Strong has offered so many great opportunities to meet with other families and share experiences.
21 Strong also has amazing functions for the kids and awesome play dates!! It’s an absolute blessing to know I have such great people in my life whom I can turn to at anytime!”
